Alnmouth and the surrounding area are beautiful all year round, with numerous coastal and country walks, from a stroll along the beach to visit a ruined castle to a trek up the Cheviot or along Hadrian's wall. You can really get away from it all, especially in the autumn and winter months.
If you enjoy a bit of bustle there is still plenty nearby to keep you amused. Newcastle is just 35 miles away and together with Gateshead has one of the biggest collection of galleries, theatres and nightclubs in the country. Of course it is also famous for its shops!
